The Forge is a System; Systems serve the Forge Master
I must build bigger. That is what I find myself notating whenever I see one of the many systems falling short of a proper flow to be successful in managing, deploying, and marketing any given site. But limitations is the bane of my every objective. Thus only one conclusion remains: Build bigger.
When I started with NoDoor, I was looking to migrate from a different technology set to the current one so that I could have simply a tighter feedback loop and prove to myself once and for all to cultivate an audience was simply having a system to adhere to that also makes sense.
It didn't take long until I had to have a portal to manage the content, the files, then the articles, and bam! Always one more system to add on. But what was always fascinating to me was how similar all of these systems held onto universal principals. Increasingly it became obvious that. I needed a flagship site to prove the scope of support this project could do. So was born The Latest Byte's Rebuild that took one iterative process I had, and flipped it on it's head to turn a 6 week project into a lazy lunch project.
The results were humbling as someone who has invested over a decade of his life on writing a plethora of different programs and scripts, to witness something I once took great pride in and in a round about way made myself obsolete. Or was I?
When I showed this system to other friends and contacts, they were blown away by the scope of things that this software could do for everyone. And what was even better was the fact that I was building a new kind of trust. A trust that says that their success was my success, and vice versa.
Eventually I had to look to other masters, such as Bezos in the next logical steps of a business, especially when you build tools and acquire resources you aren't using 100%. It only made one thing clear: This tool needed to be put in other people's hands so they can use it in ways I can only imagine how to appreciate.
I may be a forge master, but now I must build the tools and raise up new forge masters.
The next steps will be simple for the original forge master, and that is to build a Forge that all other forges may be derived from. Let no person be without a hammer and team of masters to make their vision into perfection worth as offerings to the Gods.
